What needs to work together?
The heat pump and your home
An air-to-water heat pump collects heat from outdoor air and supplies a water-based heating system. It can also heat a suitable hot-water cylinder.
Radiator sizing, controls and electricity tariffs influence performance and running costs. Savings are property-specific.
A typical installation is around £12,000 according to Energy Saving Trust. This is a general UK budgeting guide, not a T Walsh quotation; the final scope may include changes to emitters, a cylinder and electrical work.

Can I use an air source heat pump with radiators?
Potentially, yes. The radiators need to provide enough heat at the proposed water temperature. We assess the system and identify any emitter changes as part of the design.
Do you also service and repair heat pumps?
Yes. Tell us the make, model and the issue so we can confirm the appropriate appointment and scope.
Can you combine a heat pump with underfloor heating?
Yes. We offer heat-pump and underfloor-heating installation as part of a coordinated heating project. The design needs to suit the property and floor construction.
Can I get a grant?
Funding depends on current scheme rules, your property and installer eligibility. Boiler Upgrade Scheme work requires an MCS-certified installer. Confirm eligibility and the installation route before assuming a grant in your budget. Check Ofgem’s scheme guidance
Do heat pumps need a gas safety certificate?
No. Gas safety records cover gas appliances. Heat pumps have their own installation, commissioning and maintenance documentation.
