WET OR DRY UNDERFLOOR HEATING

Two ways to warm your floor.

01

Water-based systems

NovaTherm pipework systems use warm water from a boiler or heat pump. We plan the floor construction, pipework, manifold and controls together.

02

Electric (dry) systems

We also supply and fit electric heating mats or cables, with thermostats and electrical connections coordinated. These can suit bathrooms and smaller spaces; we discuss running costs, insulation and floor-covering compatibility before specifying the system.

WATER-BASED SYSTEM OPTIONS

New floor. Existing floor. A considered fit.

01

In-screed systems

An option for new floors and major renovations where the floor build-up can be planned around insulation, pipework and screed.

02

Overlay systems

An option to investigate for existing floors. Available height, doors, stairs and the final floor covering all influence the design.

03

Joisted-floor systems

An approach for suitable suspended floors, with the system chosen around the construction and heating requirement.

WE ORGANISE THE WHOLE JOB

From design to the finished floor.

01

Assess & design

Review the rooms, heat requirements, floor construction, heat source and intended floor finishes.

02

Specify & supply

Agree the water-based or electric system, floor preparation and room controls. Specify pipework and manifolds for wet systems, or mats, cables and electrical requirements for dry systems.

03

Install & coordinate screeding

Fit the agreed system and arrange screeding or floor preparation where required. The programme accounts for system checks and the screed supplier’s requirements.

04

Commission & hand over

Coordinate commissioning with the floor and screed requirements, explain the controls and provide the relevant handover information.

UNDERFLOOR HEATING COSTS

What goes into the quotation?

A meaningful price needs more than the room area. We provide a free quotation for the agreed system and work, including the screeding scope where required.

01

The floor

Total heated area, existing floor condition, insulation, floor build-up and any removal or preparation work.

02

The heating

Water-based or electric system choice, room controls, and the required plumbing or electrical connections.

03

The complete project

Electrical work, screeding, floor finishes and how the work fits around the rest of your renovation.

RADIATORS & TOWEL RAILS

Warmth that fits
the room.

We supply and fit replacement radiators, additional radiators and bathroom towel rails, with pipework and controls included in the agreed scope.

We consider room heat requirements and the system’s water temperature when selecting emitters. Appearance matters, but so does enough heat for the space.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

The practical details.

Do you fit electric underfloor heating too?
Yes. We supply and fit electric (dry) systems as well as NovaTherm water-based UFH. We coordinate the electrical work, controls and floor preparation as part of the agreed job.
Do you organise screeding as well as underfloor heating?
Yes. We arrange screeding as part of the agreed project and coordinate it with installation and the wider programme. Your quotation will set out what is included.
Can underfloor heating be fitted in an existing house?
Often there are suitable options to assess, including overlay systems. Floor construction, available height, insulation and heating requirements determine what will work.
Can I keep radiators upstairs and install UFH downstairs?
A mixed system can be designed. The controls, temperatures and connections need to be planned together so each part of the home receives the heat it needs.
Which floor coverings can I use?
The floor covering must be approved for use with the selected UFH system. Check the manufacturer’s temperature limits, thermal resistance and installation requirements before ordering tiles, timber, carpet or vinyl.
Is UFH a good match for a heat pump?
Water-based UFH can work well with lower-temperature heating. Suitability and performance still depend on the room heat demand, floor build-up and system design.
How soon can the heating be switched on after screeding?
This depends on the screed product and installation specification. Follow the prescribed curing, drying and commissioning programme; it is not one standard waiting time for every floor.
